All of my stay-at-home mamas can relate: Going from two incomes to one SUCKS. And if you’re anything like me, a beauty product junkie who used to drop $50-$100 on skincare or makeup without a second thought, it really sucks. But, much like the million other changes that come with having a baby, you learn how to adjust. Keep reading to discover 5 drugstore dupes every mama needs in her makeup bag.
The Product: Elf Plumping Lip Gloss in Mocha Twist
If you’re a fan of the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb, then you are going to LOVE this lip gloss. I quickly grabbed it during a quick trip to the supermarket (because seriously, where else do I shop these days), and was so surprised by the results. Not only was it the perfect nude shade, but it also delivers a hint of color and a plush, plumping effect that didn’t burn my lips. (If you’ve ever tried the Too Face Lip Venom, then you know what I’m talking about!) Plus, it’s formulated with coconut oil and vitamin E for added moisture.
The Product: NYX Born to Glow Liquid Illuminator in Gleam & Sun Goddess
Obviously, Becca Cosmetics is the QUEEN of highlighter. But, if you don’t feel like dropping $38 for a highlighter, opt for this product instead. Typically, I like to add a couple of drops of the bronze shade to my CC cream to add luminosity. Or, I dab a couple of dots of the pearlescent hue along my cheekbones and temples for a subtle glow.
Another must-have for achieving a fresh, dewy complexion without breaking the bank, this talc-free powder is ideal for setting your makeup without leaving your skin with a white, chalky finish. The blend of bronze, beige and yellow hues evens out your skin tone and gives it a soft, healthy glow.
The Product: Morphe 9B Bronzed Babe Eyeshadow Palette
Okay, so technically this isn’t a drugstore find, but it’s available at Ulta, which offers hundreds of other drugstore brands, it’s less than $15 and it’s pretty much one of my favorite makeup finds of all times (which I have to credit to my makeup artist bestie Faith). I am definitely not an eyeshadow girl, but, for times when you want to look like you tried, this palette is a lifesaver. It features a blend of matte and shimmery brown, bronze and neutral shades that are flattering on all skin tones. I use it for everything: To fill in my brows, add highlight to the inner corners of my eye, as eyeliner, etc.
